Sedum urvillei.

  Sedum urvillei (formerly known as Sedum sartorianum) is a succulent plant, native to the Balkans and parts of Middle East. It forms clusters of evergreen shoots, that produce pale yellow flowers in early summer. When in full bloom it is possible to be mistaken for Sedum acre.

  Το Sedum urvillei (γνωστό προηγουμένως ως Sedum sartorianum), είναι ένα παχύφυτο των Βαλκανίων και της Μέσης Ανατολής, το οποίο σχηματίζει μικρά συμπλέγματα αειθαλών βλαστών. Παρόλο που τα κίτρινα λουλούδια του είναι σχετικά άτονα, θα μπορούσε κανείς να το συγχέει με το Sedum acre, όταν είναι σε πλήρη ανθοφορία.

  Sedum amplexicaule ssp. tenuifolium (formerly known as Sempervivum tenuifolium) is a very distinct succulent plant of the Mediterranean, bearing its bright yellow flowers on a tall stem. This perennial plant, almost dries up after flowering, and keeps small shielded shoots at the end of its crawling stems that can produce new plants.

  Το Sedum amplexicaule ssp. tenuifolium (η προηγούμενη ονομασία ήταν Sempervivum tenuifolium), είναι ένα χαρακτηριστικό παχύφυτο της Μεσογείου, με έντονα κίτρινα λουλούδια πάνω σε έναν ψηλό βλαστό. Αυτό το πολυετές φυτό σχεδόν ξηραίνεται μετά την ανθοφορία του, και κρατά, στις άκρες των βλαστών που έρπονται, μικρά προφυλαγμένα τμήματα, τα οποία μπορούν να παράγουν νέα φυτά.

  Another white blooming sedum is Sedum cepaea (formerly known as S. tetraphyllum or S. spathulatum), native to C. and S. Europe, the Balkans, and Turkey. This one occurs mainly on walls and rocky mountain slopes, preferring higher altitudes and moist soil. New plants form beautiful rosettes of flat succulent leaves. The plant is a very small one, and produces its tiny flowers on a spike.

  Ένα ακόμη παχύφυτο με λευκά άνθη είναι το Sedum cepaea (κάποιες απ΄ τις προηγούμενες ονομασίες ήταν S. tetraphyllum ή S. spathulatum), αυτοφυές της κεντρικής και νότιας Ευρώπης, των Βαλκανίων, και της Τουρκίας. Απαντάται κυρίως σε τοίχους και πετρώδεις βουνοπλαγιές, προτιμώντας μάλλον τα μεγαλύτερα υψόμετρα και τα υγρά εδάφη. Τα νέα φυτά σχηματίζουν όμορφους μικρούς ρόδακες πεπλατυσμένων φύλλων. Το φυτό είναι συνήθως πολύ μικρό, και τα μικροσκοπικά του άνθη διατάσσονται πάνω σε έναν όρθιο ανθοφόρο βλαστό.

  Sedum album (formerly known as S. athoum and S. serpentinii) is a very hardy succulent plant, that is widespread in Europe and the Mediterranean region. It is commonly known as White sedum (Latin names alba, albus, album mean white), due to its very small white flowers, or Jelly Bean Sedum, due to the smooth round shape of its leaves. This evergreen perennial plant is used successfully both on green roofs and in rock gardens.
When not in flower, it could be confused with Sedum stefco, which is considered a rare species in Greece, and is also found in Bulgaria and the former Yugoslavia.

  Το Sedum album (προηγούμενες ονομασίες ήταν S. athoum και S. serpentinii), είναι ένα εξαιρετικά ανθεκτικό παχύφυτο, διάσπαρτο σε όλη την Ευρώπη και τη Μεσόγειο. Αυτό το sedum έχει πολύ μικρά λευκά άνθη (τα λατινικά ονόματα alba, albus, album σημαίνουν λευκό), που ανθίζουν τέλη άνοιξης, και τα παχιά στρογγυλά φύλλα του γίνονται κόκκινα τον χειμώνα όταν κάνει πολύ κρύο. Είναι ένα αειθαλές πολυετές φυτό, που χρησιμοποιείται με επιτυχία τόσο ως φυτοκάλυψη σε "πράσινες στέγες" όσο και σε βραχόκηπους και γλάστρες.
Όταν δεν είναι ανθισμένο, θα μπορούσε να το συγχέει κανείς με το Sedum stefco, το οποίο όμως θεωρείται σπάνιο είδος στην Ελλάδα, και απαντάται επίσης στη Βουλγαρία και την πρώην Γιουγκοσλαβία.
