Geranium rotundifolium

Fresh, rosy-pink and white, flowers of Geranium rotundifolium.

  Geranium rotundifolium is another beautiful widespread geranium. The leaves of this species are very round compared to most other members of the geranium family, hence its name "rotundifolium", also commonly known as Round-leaved Crane's Bill. Compared to Dovesfoot (Geranium molle), the downy leaves are bigger, frequently spotted with red dots on the inner end of each lobe, and a reddish outline on the fringes. The stems are often reddish, too. The relatively small, simple flowers have a fresh appearance of rosy-pink and white.

  Το Geranium rotundifolium είναι ένα ακόμη διαδεδομένο, όμορφο είδος γεράνειου. Τα φύλλα του είναι ιδιαίτερα στρογγυλά σε σχέση με τα περισσότερα μέλη της οικογένειας, απ΄ όπου και το όνομα "rotundifolium". Σε σύγκριση με το Geranium molle, τα χνουδωτά φύλλα είναι μεγαλύτερα σε μέγεθος, και συχνά έχουν κοκκινωπά στίγματα στα εσωτερικά σημεία ένωσης των λοβών, καθώς και ένα αμυδρό εξωτερικό περίγραμμα. Οι βλαστοί είναι και αυτοί συχνά κοκκινωποί, ενώ τα σχετικά μικρά λουλούδια έχουν μια ιδιαίτερα φρέσκια εμφάνιση ροζ-τριανταφυλλί και λευκού χρώματος.
